Technical Lead

The Position:
Pega Academy is a cloud-hosted system with 10,000s users across the globe. The primary purpose of this role is to improve and maintain this high visibility system. This individual will be responsible for designing and building Pega Academy components and providing consultative guidance on all project assignments. There is the opportunity and expectation that candidates will complete training and certification in Pega7 System Architect (CSA); Senior System Architect (CSSA) within 3 months of joining Pega.

In this role, you will:

Design and implement new features in Pega Academy to help enable the Pega community
Participate and contribute in definition and adherence of technology best practices
Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the main features of Pega 7.
Resolve customer issues either by providing technical guidance or issue formal Hotfixes
When required, partner with Business Contacts to troubleshoot and address operational issues
Coordinate with Pega Cloud and Pega IT to maintain production systems, optimize performance, and resolve issues
Facilitate knowledge transfer of Pega Academy functionality and application functionality to Business Contacts
Provide mentorship to team members
Provide regular updates to project leader on project progress and outstanding issues
Communicate with team via agile scrum development methodology
Conducting knowledge sharing sessions with in team

The Person:
We are looking for a Senior System Architect to enable our learners with Pegasystems’ products. The Senior System Architect is a member of the Pega Academy Learning Management System development team. Pega Academy delivers top-quality education solutions for Pega 7 and is built with Pega 7. As such, this candidate will have the opportunity to work with the very technology used by thousands of architects in the Pega ecosystem.
The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive programming experience or model-driven application development. The ideal candidate will also welcome the opportunity to constantly learn new skills at a quick pace to keep up with product feature enhancements and changes in the team’s design and development processes.

Qualifications include:

System Architect Certification (required within three months of joining Pegasystems).
BS Degree with 8 years of experience, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Experience in all phases of software development including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of large-scale, business centric and process based applications
Exposure to a variety of technologies, including, but not limited to, WebSphere or Weblogic, JEE (JSP, Servlets, EJB, XML, Java), .Net, Oracle, DB2, and MS/SQL.
Experience with CSS, JavaScript, JSON, jQuery and HTML
Demonstrated knowledge of and applicability of Object-Oriented techniques and principles
Experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Senior System Architect certification and/or experience architecting applications with Pega 7 or PRPC 6 and earlier
BPM or Application Development experience
Strong presentation skills
Demonstrated polished and professional demeanor
Experience with analysis, design, development and application deployment of large scale Java-centric enterprise application systems.
